Noshaq is the second highest peak in the Hindu Kush Range at 7,492 m (24,580 ft) and the highest point in Afghanistan and is the world’s westernmost 7,000 meter massif. Noshaq main was first climbed by a Japanese expedition in 1960 led by Professor Sakato.

The first winter ascent was 13 February 1973 by Tadeusz Piotrowski and Andrzej Zawada, members of a Polish expedition, via the north face. It was the world’s first winter climb of any 7000m peak. Until now it is the only winter ascent to this summit. This peak have attracted some famous legends like Reinhold Messer and Wanda Rutkiewicz.

“Noshaq a different peak” is a book about a team of Iranian climbers who made a successful ascend on this peak at 2010. The book is actually memoirs written by me and is full of interesting happenings during one month travel in the land of Afghans and wild remote HinduKush. In Noshaq you should expect no technical support and Sherpa, no rescue, no prepared fix rope, food and stuff! In Noshaq you can only stand on your foot! Climbing this peak is a battle between your mind and your body and a voice wich every day, every minute and every second remind you that Noshaq is a different peak!
